POS Systems
POS systems are the central sales and order-management platforms restaurants use to take orders, accept payments, route work to the kitchen or bar, and keep service moving.
For operators, a restaurant POS is more than a cash register: it connects front-of-house service, payment processing, menus, reporting, and integrations across one or many locations.
Common features: order entry for counter, table-service, handheld, kiosk, online, and mobile workflows; payments for card, contactless, gift card, split-check, tip, and receipt handling; menu management for items, modifiers, pricing, taxes, discounts, and availability; kitchen communication through ticket routing or kitchen display integrations; reporting for sales, labor, menu performance, and location-level operations; integrations with inventory, loyalty, reservations, delivery, accounting, payroll, and marketing tools.
Best fit: software vendors whose primary product is a restaurant POS or EPOS platform. Broader restaurant management suites belong here when point of sale is the core product.
